Cormac Collier

Cormac moved to Nantucket in 2001 and began work with the Nantucket Land Council as their Resource Ecologist. In 2005 he took the helm as Executive Director, administering their mission of advocacy, water research, and land conservation. Since 2019, Cormac has served as President and CEO of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, which holds over 27,000 acres in ownership equaling one-third of the island. After receiving a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont, he got his hands dirty working on organic farms from Vermont to Oregon to Hawaii. He returned to environmental research and policy work at Oregon State University and the Cape Cod National Seashore in Truro before moving to Nantucket. He's an avid vegetable and flower gardener, and enjoys walking, running, and biking through
Nantucket's open spaces, as well as fishing off the island's south shore.
