Mission Statement

The New England Forestry Foundation is a private, non-profit corporation, designed to give the woodlot owner complete forestry service, with consideration for ecology, beauty, and habitat for wildlife. It is the only organization of its kind in the country, and its primary purpose is to promote wise forestry and conservation education for the private landowner by providing expert advice and assistance through experienced consulting foresters.

Service Area and Land Protected

New England and New York State

The Foundation has given service for nearly a half century and is still the only organization of its kind in the country. It has provided forest conservation management and education for thousands of resident and non-resident forest landowners in New England and New York State. These ownership range from 25-acre woodlots to large tracks of thousands of acres.

The Foundation has supervised the harvesting of nearly one billion board feet of timber, all under approved forest conservation practices. When work is completed, the Foundation client not only receives a substantial income in many cases, but he has also the satisfaction of knowing that his forest is left in better condition for future growth. His woodland is never exploited, and it will furnish future material for wood using industries for years to come.

Professional forest and land management, which always includes ecological considerations, is establishing a sound forest economy for our region and is protecting economic and esthetic values.
